The Application of the Total Physical Response Method in Arabic Language Instruction

This study explores the implementation of the Total Physical Response (TPR) method in Arabic language learning at MTs Al Munawwir, focusing on first-grade students. TPR, which integrates physical movement with verbal instructions, aims to enhance vocabulary understanding and speaking skills. An experimental design was employed involving two student groups: one using TPR and the other using traditional methods. The results show that TPR significantly improves Arabic language comprehension, boosts student engagement, and creates a more enjoyable learning environment. Supporting factors for TPR implementation include high student engagement and teacher support, while challenges involve time and facility constraints. Recommendations for improving Arabic language instruction at MTs include broader integration of TPR into the curriculum, teacher training, and adjustments to lesson schedules to maximize the method's effectiveness.
