Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
KOLEKTIF: Jurnal Pendidikan, Pengajaran, dan Pembelajaran recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) tools may assist researchers and authors in certain aspects of scholarly work.
The journal requires responsible, transparent, and ethical use of AI tools in manuscript preparation, editorial activities, and peer review.
1. AI Use by Authors
Authors may use AI tools for limited and responsible purposes, such as:
- Language editing and proofreading.
- Grammar and spelling correction.
- Translation assistance.
- Formatting assistance.
- Supporting literature organization or preliminary analysis.
AI tools must not replace the authors' intellectual contribution, scholarly judgment, or responsibility for the manuscript.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and reliability of all submitted content.
2. Disclosure of AI Use
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools when such tools have contributed materially to the preparation, analysis, interpretation, or presentation of the manuscript.
The disclosure should identify:
- The AI tool used.
- The purpose of its use.
- The relevant section or activity in which it was used.
Authors should include the disclosure in an appropriate section of the manuscript, such as the Acknowledgments or a separate AI Use Declaration.
Example:
"During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [AI tool name] for [specific purpose]. The authors reviewed, verified, and edited the generated content and take full responsibility for the final manuscript."
Routine spelling and grammar correction may be treated differently from substantive AI-generated content, subject to the journal's editorial requirements.
3. AI and Authorship
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
Authorship requires human responsibility for the research, manuscript, and scholarly contribution.
4. Prohibited or Unacceptable AI Use
Authors must not use AI tools to:
- Fabricate or falsify research data.
- Generate misleading research findings.
- Produce references or citations that have not been verified.
- Misrepresent AI-generated content as original human research.
- Conceal substantial AI-generated content when disclosure is required.
- Violate confidentiality, privacy, copyright, or research ethics.
Authors must verify the accuracy of AI-assisted content, including factual claims, citations, references, data, and interpretations.
5. AI Use by Reviewers
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and protect unpublished manuscripts.
Reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts, reviewer reports, or identifiable research materials to AI tools or external services that may compromise confidentiality.
Reviewers must not delegate the substantive evaluation of manuscripts to AI tools.
Reviewers remain responsible for their assessments, recommendations, and comments.
6. AI Use by Editors
Editors must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and editorial communications.
Editors must not upload confidential manuscript content or identifying information to AI tools unless the use is explicitly authorized by the journal and appropriate confidentiality safeguards are in place.
AI tools must not replace editorial judgment or final publication decisions.
7. Editorial Assessment
The editorial office may request clarification regarding AI use when necessary.
Failure to disclose material AI use, inappropriate AI-generated content, or AI-related research misconduct may result in rejection, correction, or other editorial action.
This policy may be updated as AI technologies and scholarly publishing standards evolve.
