Plagiarism and Similarity Screening Policy
KOLEKTIF: Jurnal Pendidikan, Pengajaran, dan Pembelajaran is committed to preventing plagiarism and maintaining academic integrity.
All submitted manuscripts are subject to editorial screening for similarity and potential plagiarism before being sent for peer review.
1. Similarity Screening
The journal uses Turnitin or another appropriate similarity-detection tool to identify potential textual overlap. The journal's existing guideline specifies a similarity score of less than 25% for submitted manuscripts. This threshold is used as an initial screening criterion and does not automatically determine whether plagiarism has occurred.
The editorial team evaluates similarity reports in context, considering:
- Properly cited quotations.
- References and bibliographies.
- Common terminology.
- Methodological descriptions.
- Overlapping text with the authors' previous publications.
- Unattributed or improperly attributed material.
2. Forms of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct copying without appropriate attribution.
- Substantial reproduction of another author's work.
- Improper paraphrasing without citation.
- Use of another person's ideas without acknowledgment.
- Reuse of previously published material without appropriate disclosure.
- Misappropriation of data, figures, tables, or other intellectual contributions.
Self-plagiarism or redundant publication may also constitute an ethical violation when previously published material is reused without appropriate disclosure or justification.
3. Editorial Action
If potential plagiarism is identified, the editorial office may:
- Request clarification from the author.
- Request revisions and appropriate citations.
- Reject the manuscript.
- Initiate an investigation if serious misconduct is suspected.
- Take further action when necessary.
Manuscripts involving confirmed serious plagiarism may be rejected without further review.
4. Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all sources are properly acknowledged.
Authors must ensure that quotations, paraphrases, figures, tables, and other materials are appropriately cited.
5. Published Articles
If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction depending on the severity of the violation.
The journal reserves the right to notify relevant institutions or authorities when appropriate.
