Located near the active Lembang Fault, SMA Nurul Fikri Boarding School Lembang lies in a high earthquake-risk area, requiring innovative educational strategies to build disaster preparedness among students. Unfortunately, conventional teaching approaches often fail to foster active student engagement with disaster mitigation issues. This study aims to develop a gamified learning media using ArcGIS Story Map that is contextual, visual, and interactive to enhance students’ awareness and understanding of local disaster risks. A descriptive qualitative method was applied, including needs analysis, gamification narrative design, GIS-based media development, and internal evaluation. The result is EarthHero-Z, an educational story map that features interactive maps, location-based challenges, and visual storytelling on disaster mitigation. Findings reveal that this media increases student enthusiasm, spatial reasoning skills, and active participation in geography and disaster education. EarthHero-Z demonstrates strong potential to be implemented in other disaster-prone schools and supports the Safe School Program (SPAB). By integrating geospatial technology and experiential learning, disaster education becomes more meaningful, engaging, and relevant for young learners.
