An Analysis of the Functions of Shuujoshi Danseigo and Joseigo in the Anime Karigurashi no Arrietty

The use of The use of a language is influenced by the conditions of its society. This condition can cause language variations related to age, education, sex, occupation, and others. Japanese has a variety of language varieties based on gender, namely danseigo (male variety) and joseigo (female variety). (female language variety). Danseigo and joseigo can be characterized by shuujoshi which has its own function and characteristics. This research aims to find out the shuujoshi danseigo and joseigo used by the characters in the anime titled Karigurashi no Arietty and find out its function. The method used in this research The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with the technique of simak bebas libat cakap (SBLC). There are 69 utterances from 50 dialogs that use shuujoshi. The types of shuujoshi andseigo that found are ~zo, ~na, and ~kana. Meanwhile, the types of shuujoshi joseigo found are ~wa. found include ~wa. ~wane, ~wayo, and ~kashira. Based on 32 utterances from 30 dialogues analyzed, there are shuujoshi danseigo as many as 12 utterances and shuujoshi joseigo as many as 20 speech. The analysis result shows the function of shuujoshi danseigo in anime Karigurashi no Arietty mostly show the function of commanding and emphasizing statements, while shuujoshi danseigo in anime emphasize the statement, while shuujoshi joseigo shows the function of softening the statement. to soften the statement.
